Key Topics

UAE & Space

The United Arab Emirate’s (UAE) interest in astronomy and space sciences dates back to the 1970’s, when His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, met with the NASA team responsible for the Apollo moon landing.  This meeting was the spark that eventually led to the birth of the space sector in the UAE. Today, the space industry in the UAE is evolving at a rapid pace with the development of new technologies and ambitious space programs.

Join us at the YPinSpace Conference to get an insight of:

  • The journey of KhalifaSat project, the first earth observation satellite fully manufactured by Emirati engineers in the UAE, (from manufacturing till launch).
  • The final preparatory stages for launching the “Hope Spacecraft”, the Emirates Mars Mission, as well as its scientific objectives.
  • The UAE 100-year plan to establish the first inhabitable human settlement in Mars by 2117.
  • The innovations of the UAE satellite telecommunication industry.
  • The rigorous trainings involved to becoming an astronaut and the journey of the first UAE astronauts.

Employing Space Observation Technology To The Protection Of Our Environment

Get an insight from experts from international space centers and agencies, such as NASA, JAXA, and ESA,  on how space observation technologies and data can greatly provide information that can protect our environment. Work on monitoring environmental phenomena and changes in the world by conducting specialized studies to use for various applications such as land cover mapping, vegetation health monitoring, water resource mapping, monitoring greenhouse gas emissions to aid in climate change studies.

Life Cycle of Cubesat Design and Development

Join this workshop to get a hands on experience on how cubesats are designed and manufactured. This workshop is designed for engineers, scientists, and managers of different backgrounds and experience levels who are interested in space mission planning, designing, and analysis. It introduces the fundamental concepts of space systems by combining both the engineering and science aspects involved. The complete space system architecture will be discussed for an overview of how space projects normally operate. Then, a more detailed description of spacecraft subsystem technologies will be discussed providing a complete overview from a system engineering perspective. The participants will see examples for completed/ongoing CubeSat projects such as MYSat-1, MYSat-2, MeznSat, etc.

Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation

Explore the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its various Earth Observation (EO) applications and get an insight of selected topics of AI algorithms and techniques for EO, including orbit, mission, sensor networks, intelligent agents, communication, coding, signal processing, machine learning, deep learning, data indexing, data bases, network theories, simulation, modeling, inverse problem, model assimilation, or parameters retrieval.
